HRV Biofeedback & Guided Breathing Application
Project Overview & Objectives
This specialized healthcare project involved low-latency signal processing. We developed a custom visualization engine that translates raw cardiac data from BLE wearables into intuitive, calming biofeedback graphs in real-time, helping users manage stress through science-backed breathing protocols.
The Core Business Challenges
Processing raw heart-rate variability (HRV) signals and converting them into graphical biofeedback in real-time is computationally heavy. Lag/latency above 200ms directly disrupts the user's breathing sync, rendering the stress-relief exercises ineffective.
Our Engineering Approach
We developed a lightweight BLE signal processing queue that filters noise directly on the client side. We utilized fast math utilities and offloaded Fast Fourier Transform computations to separate worker threads, keeping chart rendering latency consistently below 100ms.
